Chapter 715 - Visiting the in-laws: Port City of Hurley (Part 5)
I could not help but touch my forehead in vexation. How can a damn dragon just pass out from such a tiny thunder orb?!I immediately approached Alstein and I have confirmed that he is definitely knocked out. It was indeed my fault since I assumed that he is stronger than all the other mystiques that I have met before since he is a dragon. That is a miss on my part.
If I take in consideration that from their original size, they were forced to take human form, I guess they were the ones that suffered the most due to the scarcity of mana in the human realm. In this sense, the mana I put in that small orb would indeed be too much for his current body to handle.
Now, my next problem is what to do with this dragon. Sure, I can sneak him inside the inn that I am staying at but I will be meeting Xenos by tomorrow and I do not want to be seen with an unknown man. Ugh.
Having no choice, I picked Alstein from the ground and placed him on my shoulder. I just wanted to tell everybody that he is damn heavier than he looked and this is coming from someone who is way stronger for a woman even for mystiques. He was at least thrice as heavier as how his body oooked. He is toned and tall alright but even Makisig was not this heavy and my giant husband looked like a body builder. Ugh, dragons.
I teleported back into my room in the inn and it was a good thing that I chose a bigger one with a wider bed or else I will just dump this guy on the floor. Once I have settled him in, I teleported back to one of the secluded alleys and walked out. I had to then walk back to the inn so that everyone can see that I went back that night.
It was really such a hassle. Here I thought that as long as I avoided unmarried men in general and everyone in those entertainment places, I won’t have a problem!
I sat on one of the cushioned seats inside my room and waited for the dragon bug to wake up. He should be waking up soon since his recovery rate would at least be fast even if he did not have much mana.
From the time that I knocked him out, it has only been 20 minutes and he is already showing signs of waking up. And after waiting for a bit more, his eyes opened wide as he started warily looking on the ceiling. He sat up abruptly and looked around the room, his eyes glaring cautiously at everything until his eyes fell on to me.
The killing intent that was flaring earlier disappeared and then his face reddened as if he was embarrassed. He then started feeling the clothes in his body, sighing in relief that he was still clothed. Is he actually thinking...
I lifted my right eyebrow while staring at everything he was doing and asked, "Did you actually think that I will undress you or take advantage of you? Shouldn’t you be the one explaining why you are here? Did I give you permission to meet me in person?"
Realizing that his thoughts and actions were being closely observed, he hurriedly got out of my bed and then he kneeled in front of me like a child waiting to be punished. He started explaining in a hurry, "I apologize, your highness. I only wanted to observe you from afar but I saw you going to the pier where it was dark and dangerous so I had no choice but to follow you. I know that you did not give me permission to meet you in person and I should have been content that you are having conversations with me. I apologize that I tracked you through our mental connection. Please punish me as you see fit."
Oh. He speaks a lot when he has a mistake, huh? And here I thought that he was the not-so-chatty type from our interactions.
After speaking, he kept quiet and looking down, not brave enough to meet my eyes but I can see clearly that his whole body was shaking. I do not know if it was still due to embarrassment, residue of the thunder orb or if he was scared on what I would do with him. I clicked my tongue and asked, "So what do you need from me for you to go this far as to be a stalker? Are you sent by the others to speak with me in behalf of Vlaelmundr?"
He looked up abruptly, fear showing clearly in his beautiful purple pupils with silver vertical slits on them. I got distracted and started thinking about other things like how his hair was similar to Alistair with the shade of deep purple that it was almost black and how perfect his facial features are.
As if realizing that he should not be staring on my face or my eyes, he looked down and explained again that finding me and following me was all his idea. He also admiteed that he sneaked out and even the dragons back in Vlaelmundr did not know that he left the sanctuary to go to where I am.
I just stared at him quietly as he started shivering again. I sighed and responded, "Well, we are already in this situation so what else is there left to do. I am here to meet my in-laws and my husband is coming in tomorrow. You understand what I am saying, right?"
He nodded his head, still not daring to look into my eyes as he responded, "I will disappear and leave this instant." I chuckled and said, "But I have to punish you, right?" He was already on his way to the door when his whole body stiffened and he suddenly coughed violently as if he choked on a lot of food.
I laughed louder and he doesn’t even have the courage to turn around to face me. I stood up and spoke softly, "You are staying here tonight to warm my bed, Alstein. Then, I have some things that I need your help with. You won’t say no to me, right?"
He turned around slowly and stiffly walked back to my bed to sit. He was still not looking at me directly. He then murmured, "I understand, your highness. I will help you in every way I can."
