Chapter 513 A New King
Chapter 513 A New King
"You sure act like you own the damn place."
The voice cut through the room so suddenly that everyone froze.
Ivan was shocked as he turned around. The three men holding Andrei paused immediately and even Andrei himself stopped struggling for a second before his eyes widened.
The moment he saw Liam standing there casually against the wall, Andrei didn’t wait around.
He bolted.
The man practically ran with his tail between his legs.
Nobody stopped him.
Everyone’s attention had shifted completely.
Ivan stared at Liam with narrowed eyes.
For two reasons.
The first was simple.
He had never seen this guy before.
Liam wasn’t wearing prison clothes. He wasn’t dressed like an inmate. He looked completely out of place standing inside the prison block wearing casual clothes as though he had simply wandered in from the street.
The second reason was even stranger.
The confidence.
Nobody spoke to Ivan like that.
Not in here.
Not after spending more than a few days inside these walls.
Yet this young man was standing there without the slightest hint of fear.
Either he was completely insane.
Or he had a reason not to be afraid.
Ivan slowly stepped forward.
"Who the fuck are you?"
Liam sighed dramatically and pushed himself off the wall.
He stretched his shoulders lazily before walking toward Ivan.
Immediately the three men moved.
They surrounded him from different directions.
One stood to his left.
Another to his right.
The last positioned himself behind him.
Yet none of them touched him.
Not yet.
Their eyes kept moving over his clothes.
Their thoughts were obvious.
What if he was a new officer?
What if he was some special investigator?
Touching another prisoner was one thing.
Touching a police officer was something else entirely.
That could destroy everything.
Of course Liam knew exactly what they were thinking.
His lips curved into a small smile.
"Don’t worry boys."
He raised both hands casually.
"I’m not a policeman."
The tension eased slightly.
Liam pointed directly at Ivan.
"I’m just a dude here to straighten your mess up."
The room became silent.
One of the men actually blinked.
Ivan raised an eyebrow.
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
Liam yawned loudly.
The reaction annoyed Ivan instantly.
It felt like he wasn’t being taken seriously.
Liam looked around the room, studying each face carefully before speaking.
"I’m talking about twelve years ago."
The atmosphere changed.
Immediately.
The smile vanished from Ivan’s face.
His eyes sharpened.
His shoulders stiffened.
Even the three men around Liam exchanged glances.
Liam noticed everything.
Every reaction.
Every tiny movement.
Interesting.
Very interesting.
Ivan took another step forward.
This time there was no fake amusement on his face.
Only suspicion.
"What about twelve years ago?"
His voice came out deeper.
Colder.
He had no idea who Liam was.
Journalist.
Detective.
Government agent.
Maybe some obsessed relative.
He didn’t know.
But he suddenly wanted this conversation to end.
Liam folded his arms across his chest.
His expression remained calm.
"I know you didn’t kill that man."
The room became even quieter.
"I know you took the fall for Governor Vladimir."
For half a second nobody moved.
Then Ivan exploded.
"Beat some fucking sense into this motherfucker!"
The roar echoed through the room.
That was all the permission the three men needed.
Truthfully they had wanted an excuse from the start.
The smug look on Liam’s face irritated them.
The way he stood comfortably in the middle of them irritated them.
Everything about him was irritating.
The man on Liam’s right swung first.
His fist shot toward Liam’s jaw.
Fast.
Aggressive.
The kind of punch meant to drop someone immediately.
Liam simply tilted his head.
The fist missed completely.
The prisoner stumbled slightly.
Before he could recover, Liam slapped the back of his head.
Not hard.
Just enough.
WHACK.
The man’s face smashed directly into the concrete wall.
The entire room froze.
Liam looked genuinely disappointed.
"That’s it?"
The man groaned and slid down the wall.
Blood immediately poured from his nose.
The other two attacked together.
One lunged from behind while the other aimed a kick toward Liam’s ribs.
Finally.
Some teamwork.
Liam stepped sideways.
The kick missed him entirely and instead smashed directly into the other attacker’s thigh.
The man screamed.
The second man cursed.
Neither understood what had happened.
Liam did.
They were simply too slow.
Far too slow.
Compared to vampires.
Compared to werewolves.
Compared to Alexander.
Compared to Cain.
These men might as well have been standing still.
Liam grabbed one by the back of his shirt.
The prisoner suddenly felt his feet leave the ground.
"Huh?"
The next second he was flying.
BOOM!
He crashed into bathroom walls.
The entire structure collapsed underneath him.
The sound echoed through the prison block.
The remaining attacker stared with wide eyes.
He suddenly wasn’t eager anymore.
Liam smiled at him.
"Your turn."
The man immediately backed away.
"Nope."
Then he pointed at Ivan.
"He’s the one you want."
Liam laughed.
Even Ivan looked disgusted.
"Coward."
The man shrugged shamelessly.
"Maybe."
For the first time since Liam arrived, Ivan stopped looking annoyed.
Now he looked concerned.
The three men who normally dominated entire prison blocks had been handled in seconds.
Effortlessly.
No struggle.
No real fight.
It looked like a grown man dealing with children.
Ivan studied Liam carefully.
The relaxed posture.
The confidence.
The complete lack of concern.
This wasn’t a journalist.
This wasn’t some curious investigator.
This was something far worse.
Someone who came here already knowing exactly what he wanted.
Liam slowly turned his attention back toward Ivan.
The smile on his face disappeared.
"Now that they’re done," he said calmly.
"We can continue our conversation."
Ivan’s jaw tightened.
"What do you want?"
Liam stared directly into his eyes.
"Twelve years ago."
The room felt colder.
"I want the truth."
Neither man looked away.
The tension between them became so thick it almost felt physical.
Around them the injured prisoners remained silent.
Nobody dared interrupt.
Nobody dared move.
Because for the first time in years, someone had walked into Ivan’s territory and completely taken control.
And judging from the look in Liam’s eyes, he was only getting started.
