Chapter 2268: How do I leave?

Though the matter of the Black Tide was settled, it didn’t seem like it was a solution that everyone was satisfied with.

Even though it was a solution that solved everything, there were those that were worried about what would happen if the Black Tide were to break out again.

There were those that worried that the Black Tide might be able to corrupt people even though it was sealed. After all, it was able to create those Apostles once and it wasn’t as if it couldn’t do it a second time.

Which was why there were opposing factions that formed after the Black Tide matter was over.

There were those that wanted to study the relics to see if there was some kind of way to take care of the Black Tide permanently. They wanted to find some kind of solution that would allow them to replace the Black Tide.

Then there were those that believed that things like this were too dangerous. This second faction wanted to strictly guard the relics that the Heart of Destruction had been sealed in so that no one could mess with the seal.

Finally, there was the third neutral faction that believed that everything should be left in the past. Since humanity has been able to deal with this matter, then they should leave this matter behind and focus on the future.

With these three opposing factions forming, it was inevitable that there would be conflict between them.

However, it didn’t seem like this was related to me at all.

After all, I had already fulfilled the task that I had been sent to this world to accomplish.

With my guidance, humanity had reached a point where they would be able to develop on their own. It wasn’t as if they needed any more guidance since they already had their own gods.

No matter how one looked at it, it seemed like the trial had finished.

The problem was that I was still stuck in this place.

Even though the Heart of Destruction had been sealed off, there was nothing that happened in this place. It seemed like I was just stuck in this room even though the world was developing on its own.

"So how do I get out of here? Do I have to submit my answers or something?"

But even after checking the panel to see if there was something there that would allow me to end this trial, I didn’t find a single thing.

Then again, I certainly would have found something like this before now if this thing did exist.

So it didn’t seem like there was a way to leave this place.

"Does that mean that there was something that I missed?"

It seemed like that was the only logical explanation, but I couldn’t think of a single thing that I might have missed. No matter how I looked at the screen in front of me, it seemed like everything had been wrapped up.

So it felt like I was being kept in this world for no reason at this point...

Which was why I suddenly asked, "Are you going to let me leave this place or not? I’ve already taken care of everything that I’ve wanted to take care of."

There was only silence that followed after I asked this.

It didn’t even seem like the gods that were outside were even bothering to listen to me.

"Are they just abandoning me here?"

It didn’t make sense since the gods still required me to take care of the forces of Destruction, so it wasn’t as if they would abandon me here all of a sudden.

But it also didn’t seem like they were going to do anything to bring me out of this place.

"How long are they planning on trapping me here? Are they just going to trap me here until they need more or until I submit?"

The more that I thought about it, the more that it made sense that they would trap me in this place. After all, I was nothing more than a thorn in their sides if I was allowed to roam free out there.

There was a part of me that was even wondering if they were planning on putting some kind of restriction on me during this time. It would only make sense if they were planning on keeping me trapped here.

But before I could spiral out of control, I took a deep breath and calmed myself down.

Instead of letting myself get caught up in these thoughts, I forced myself to calm down and think carefully about this situation.

Taking a deep breath, I said out loud, "I have achieved everything that I wanted to achieve in this place and there’s nothing left for me to do."

As soon as I said this out loud, there was a light that appeared in this room.

It caught me off guard when this light appeared, but I quickly went over to where this light was coming from. It seemed like it was coming from the closet that was in this room.

But I had already looked in this closet and seen that there wasn’t anything here.

So it didn’t make sense for light to be coming from this closet all of a sudden.

Even so, I slowly opened it to see what was inside.

After opening it, I found that there was this strange force that pulled me in. I wasn’t able to resist at all as the force pulled me in and when I realized what happened, I found that I was back in front of Solista.

For a moment, I wasn’t able to process what had just happened.

But after some time passed, I realized that I had been brought back to where I had been before.

At the same time, it didn’t even seem like time had passed with how Solista was still looking at me.

Seeing this, there was a part of me that couldn’t help feeling embarrassed about where my mind wandered in the end...
